When you arrive in our part of France you will be amazed on how
much of the countryside is given over the forestry : these are either the great
ex-royal hunting forests now in the public domain (thanks to the Revolution) or indeed
large private domaines given over to hunting for animals on the hoof.
The Sologne marshlands south of Blois, our own area of
ponds and lakes, has for all times been a paradise for bird hunting and indeed days of
hunting under the guidance of hunting guides can be arranged by ourselves.
And of course fishing is near-on a
national sport and together with our numerous and various rivers, streams, ponds and lakes the
Loire valley is a real fisherman’s paradise.
